About Jen
“I want to unfold. I don’t want to stay folded anywhere because where I am folded, there I am untrue.” -Rilke
I am passionate about inviting others to engage in a more authentic, awakened, connected life. I earned my Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, a Buddhist-oriented university for contemplative education. I am Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPC 393), a Nationally Registered Art Therapist (ATR 12-117), and a Master-level Reiki practitioner in the Usui tradition in the Takata lineage. Additionally, I have been extensively trained in mindfulness meditation, energetic counseling, body-centered psychotherapy, and sandtray therapy.
My background includes over a decade of working with adults, adolescents, and children in a wide range of therapeutic venues. These settings include a transpersonal community counseling center, youth services organizations, a day-treatment facility for adolescents, a counseling center at a large state university, an assisted-living establishment for elders, community arts studios, children’s art programs, grade schools, and in private practice.
In addition to my work, I am interested in seeking my own personal growth and spiritual development. I do this through my relationships, as I derive great joy from spending connected time with my daughter, husband, and loved ones. Making art in some form every single day helps me create meaning and magic in the ordinary. I also enjoy writing, reading, meditation, yin yoga, cooking, photography, exploring new places, and picking up seashells and stones.
